I've loved Quake 2 since I first played the game. Only recently, however, did I decide to take the plunge and learn how to create my own maps for this wonderful 3D engine. I play and author maps under the name Briareos {Moo}. I have also had the honor of co-authoring a map with my good friend - Rayonix{moo}, and am helping my wife - Mom O'Bot {Moo} - in learning the art of mapping.
Below you will find
pics and information pertaining to the maps my friends and I have made. Suck 'em
down, and frag to your heart's content. ![]()

ChaosDM
As far as Q2 mods go, this is the craziest if not the best. None the less, it is my personal favorite by far! I have had more hours of fun with this mod than any other game in my lifetime. And who couldn't have fun when bastard swords, chainsaws, air guns, crossbows, flash grenades, poison grenades, PROXY MINES, buzz-blade launchers, defense turrets, gravity vortexes and more are added to the normal Q2 weapons arsenal. You can get all the chaotic details of this crazy mod at the Chaotic Dreams Homepage. P.S. they're working on Unreal Tournament and Quake ]I[ versions of the mod too.
ChaosDM Maps
ChaosDM Maps are completely compatible with standard Quake 2 Death Match. Although ChaosDM is a server and client side mod, the maps have no special entities compiled into them and can therefore be used with regular Q2 Death Match, or any other mod that does not require specially made maps. What sets a ChaosDM map apart is that some items may be placed where they are not accessible without the use of the grapple or anti-gravity boots found in the ChaosDM mod. Also, ChaosDM maps will often have many custom textures and sounds, so be sure you install all of the necessary folders and files in your baseq2 directory with the map. NOTE: Some weapons and ammo take new forms in the ChaosDM mod, so their placement may seem strange at times in regular Q2.Mapping Tools
Although It's not respected in all circles, I can't say enough good things about QuArK (especially that it's free). All maps here were created exclusively on QuArK 5.10, using the build39 pack that can be found on the QuArK site for compiling tools. The single exception was my use of the Quake 2 Compile Center for the difficult compiling of the maps in the TLTF series.Moo Clan
As you may have noticed, all of the players I've mentioned (myself included) are part of the Moo Clan. The clan is all about having fun, hence the motto 'Fun Fraggin' or Die!' To be a member, you must obey two rules: 1. Don't ever cheat, and 2. Don't cuss. The general clan focus is on ChaosDM right now, so if you like Chaos and think you can follow the rules, click on the link above and check us out!Texture Editor
Custom textures were edited and created using a combination of Wally and Paint Shop Pro 6.02.
